    so…

    overwhelmingly tired, but I have to keep myself awake to finish homework.  Winterguard weekends are worth it, but so draining in the end.

    after…

    our last run-through of the night, I was going to get water when I heard someone shout about blood being on the floor and I looked down to realize that it came from my pinkie finger.  I had spotted blood stains on my flag during the run, but I definitely thought they were from an older season.  Adrenaline must have really taken over, because I can’t for the life of me remember when it happened.  However, by playing detective with the bloodstains I found on my equipment, I’ve determined that it was the sabre that did the damage.  It’s pretty bad though; I didn’t feel it happen so I just kept going as usual and got blood EVERYWHERE

    If you look closely, you can see the blood coating the pole of the flag.  Kind of ridiculous.

    thoroughly…

    enjoying today.  The weather’s fantastically nice and all I have left today is two hours of grading papers.  Also, started my micro project today during class.  This is super exciting because as a TA, I still get to work on a project, the results of which may possibly used in a publication.  Spent this morning homogenizing bed bugs and plating for their bacteria.  I’m working with 3 double blind samples and supposedly we’re looking to hopefully isolate Staphylococcus aureus and even Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus from these bed bugs.  I wish the micro lab were open on weekends because I really want to come in and check on the growth tomorrow.  I’m loving today.
